Welcome to the George

Featuring timeless waterside alfresco dining, all fresh food and an extraordinary collection of wines, The George is a bar, a restaurant, a pub and a home from home. Situated in the centre of Fordingbridge overlooking the river, The George has evolved into an elegant, romantic business with bags of energy and great food. We offer delicious fresh produce direct from growers and reflect seasonality and adventure on our black boards .

The food at the George is what we are all about! We are fiercely proud of the fresh food we serve. All our food is created and cooked to order on the premises, using the best raw materials. We don't believe in doing fussy and complicated things with these delicious ingredients, but instead would rather they were complimented, treated with love and brought to the table just as they should be. The fish and vegetarian dish of the day depends on our fishmonger and grocer and, of course, the talents of our kitchen team! So keep an eye on the fireplace for updates. All our puddings are home-made and are listed on the small blackboards - we will bring them to you.
