Farm Stays
Enjoy the rural ways of life at its very best on a Farm Stay break in the New Forest.
By staying in a farm stay property, you will get to experience the stunning New Forest countryside in a very different way. Although peaceful and tranquil, you will probably get to hear the sounds of nature, from chickens clucking in the grounds to the moos of cattle out of the forest.
Get hands-on and close to nature on one of our farms
If you fancy the experience then you may be given the chance to get hands-on on the farm whether that’s by meeting some of the animals onsite or collecting freshly laid eggs from the hens. At Hucklesbrook Farm, near Gorley, (which offers three holiday cottages) children are welcome to collect the hen’s eggs from the old orchard and have them for breakfast.
Stay in one of the self-catering barn conversions at West Park Farm, near Fordingbridge and you can enjoy walks around the working farm passing the sheep, cattle, horses and pigs and exploring trails through the farm’s ancient woodland.
Sheep, cows and chickens will surround you at Upper Kingston Farm Cottages, the beautifully restored Victorian farm buildings set in the open countryside of the Avon Valley, near Ringwood. The welcome pack provided also offers a range of tasty local New Forest produce.
Nature lovers will enjoy a stay at one of the self-catering cottages or converted barns at Burgate Manor Farm, just north of Fordingbridge. The farm is set in over 200 acres of grassland and meadows and is a haven for birds including barn owl, kingfisher, heron and water rail. The farm also has on-site fishing access as the River Avon passes through it. Fishing tickets are available.
Are you dreaming of escaping to gorgeous countryside? Stay at Gambledown Farm, where you'll find luxury barn stays and glamping set in 270 acres of beautiful countyside. Staying with you onsite are Shorthorn cattle, chickens (guests staying in their luxury barns can collect eggs from the free range enclosure!), lambs, and pigs.
Locally-sourced produce
Whether it’s a welcome pack with some tasty local treats or a breakfast cooked on a farmhouse aga you can be sure of some fresh, locally-sourced produce. Look out for properties that have the New Forest Marque, a sign that they use local produce and are committed to the sustainability of the New Forest National Park.
